Care & Support Role
Care Captain
Care Captains are the Core’s family advocates, trusted leaders who maintain monthly contact with our adopted families and Core C.A.R.E. members. They ensure families feel supported, understood, and connected to ongoing resources.
This role is ideal for compassionate communicators who want to build long-term relationships and make a consistent difference in people’s lives.
Core Responsibilities
Care Captains provide stability and accountability across the Core C.A.R.E. network. They act as the primary point of contact for assigned families, ensuring each household’s needs are met and progress is tracked through our support programs.
- Maintain regular monthly check-ins with assigned families.
- Track and update needs, milestones, and progress in HubSpot.
- Coordinate with Care Coordinators and Fulfillment Specialists to ensure timely support.
- Encourage families to engage with available Core programs and community events.
- Report urgent needs or issues to the Executive Director for rapid response.
- Attend volunteer updates and occasional leadership meetings.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and empathy.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable using phone, text, and HubSpot forms.
- Reliable and consistent follow-through.
Tools & Systems Used
- HubSpot CRM (Contacts, Tickets, Core C.A.R.E. tracking)
- Slack / Email for team communication
- Google Sheets for family reports
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Executive Director (Chelse Hall)
- Collaborates with: Care Coordinators, Fulfillment Specialists, and Event Coordinators
Time Commitment
- Average: 3–5 hours per week
- Remote with flexible scheduling
Key Outcomes
- All assigned families receive consistent communication and follow-up.
- Families feel supported, informed, and part of the Core community.
- Improved trust and data accuracy within the Core C.A.R.E. program.
Advancement Path
Care Captains who show leadership and reliability may advance to Core Service Lead or Program Supervisor positions overseeing multiple families or teams.
